.eu domains are available for registration, transfer, or connection to Squarespace for businesses and professionals with a presence in the European Union.

Key Features and Requirements:

  • Must have an EU address or business presence
  • Organization name is mandatory during registration
  • Domain locking is not available
  • No grace period for expired domains
  • No five-day cooling-off period or refunds after registration
  • Must select an EU country during registration

Expired Domain Policy:

  • No grace period for renewal
  • Domains return to registrar (Tucows)
  • 40-day redemption period through Tucows
  • Cannot be renewed through Squarespace after expiration

Important Registration Notes:

  • Verify domain name spelling before registration
  • Must provide valid organization name (cannot use "None")
  • Limited to EU citizens and businesses
  • Subject to specific ccTLD rules and regulations

Domain Recovery: If your domain expires, contact Tucows directly during the 40-day redemption period to attempt recovery.

Special Considerations:

  • These registration requirements only apply to new registrations and transfers
  • Connected domains from third-party providers are exempt from these rules
  • Pricing can be found through the domain search page or Domains dashboard

To ensure successful registration, verify your eligibility and carefully review all requirements before proceeding with a .eu domain registration or transfer.
