Record Not Saving

Replace placeholder values in Host and Data fields with your actual information. The Priority field remains optional.

Host Field Format Guidelines

  • Your domain name automatically appends after Host values
  • Use @ in Host field when provider requests bare domain
  • "Host already in use" means another record uses the same Host value

Common Error Messages and Solutions

Invalid IP Address or Hostname

  • Check Data field formatting
  • Remove trailing dots from values

Record Conflict Error

  1. Open domain panel
  2. Navigate to DNS Settings
  3. Review Custom Records
  4. Remove conflicting records
  5. Add new record
  6. Save changes

Priority Field Limitations

  • Only editable for MX or SRV records
  • Visible but locked for other record types

AAAA Records Use fully expanded IPv6 addresses:

  • Incorrect: 2620:12a:8000::3
  • Correct: 2620:12a:8000:0:0:0:0:3

Enter Valid Alias Data Error

  • Ensure records are under 255 characters
  • Remove extra characters (especially trailing dots)
  • Split longer records into multiple strings

Long TXT/DMARC Records

  1. Break records into strings under 255 characters
  2. Add each string separately as individual records
  3. Use online DNS record splitting tools if needed

Support Limitations

  • Support can help locate DNS settings
  • Technical DNS advice must come from service providers
  • Use Domains Forum for peer assistance
  • Contact third-party services directly for specific setup help

Note: DNS changes may take 24-72 hours to propagate fully.
