Learn about significant increases or decreases in your site's traffic through automated traffic alerts that help monitor performance across different marketing channels.

Traffic alerts use machine learning-powered anomaly detection to identify statistically significant changes in your traffic patterns. The system analyzes traffic by comparing current volumes against the previous 28 days of data, flagging changes that fall outside 99% of your normal traffic distribution.

For anomaly detection to work effectively, your site must have at least 28 days of traffic history to establish baseline patterns.

View and Analyze Anomalies:

  • Open Analytics panel and select traffic
  • Choose your desired date range
  • Click alert icons (shown as vibrating exclamation marks) on the traffic chart
  • Review detailed information about the anomaly

Each anomaly report includes:

  • Date of occurrence
  • Traffic volume during the event
  • For traffic spikes: Top pages driving increased traffic (up to 2) with percentage contribution
  • For traffic drops: Pages with decreased traffic (up to 2) with percentage decline
  • Primary channels contributing to the change

Using Anomaly Data:

  • Identify successful traffic drivers
  • Spot underperforming channels
  • Test different strategies based on insights
  • Make data-driven adjustments to improve overall traffic

For example, if you notice decreased Facebook traffic, experiment with different social sharing approaches to find what resonates with your audience.

Provide Feedback:

  • Use the "Did this help?" option on anomaly detail pages
  • Click thumbs up/down to rate
  • Add specific comments in the feedback box
  • Submit your response

This feedback helps improve the accuracy and usefulness of the anomaly detection system over time.
