To link a DreamHost domain to Squarespace, follow these steps:

1. Start the Squarespace Connection

• Go to Settings > Domains
• Click "Use my Domain"
• Enter your domain name and click the arrow
• Click "Link domain"
• Select DreamHost from the dropdown
• Click "Continue"
• Keep the DNS records panel open for reference

2. Access DreamHost Settings

• Log in to DreamHost
• Navigate to Domains > Manage Domains
• Switch from full hosting to DNS-only hosting
• Ensure "Unsafe HTTPS" appears under Security
• If "Secure HTTPS" shows, remove the certificate

3. Add First CNAME Record

• Add new record with:
  • Host: [unique code from Squarespace]
  • Type: CNAME
  • Points to: verify.squarespace.com

4. Add Second CNAME Record

• Add new record with:
  • Host: www
  • Type: CNAME
  • Points to: ext-cust.squarespace.com

5. Add Four A-Records Create records with these values:

Host    Type    Points to
@       A       198.185.159.144
@       A       198.185.159.145
@       A       198.49.23.144
@       A       198.49.23.145

6. Wait for Connection

• Allow 24-72 hours for changes to take effect
• Monitor progress in Squarespace DNS Settings
• Green labels will appear as records link successfully

Important Notes:

• Don't delete Mail or Email host records
• Leave Host field empty for A-records
• Domain will show "Linked" in Squarespace when complete

Troubleshooting:

• Use DNS checker tool if "Unable to verify domain ownership" appears
• Contact DreamHost support for account-specific issues
• Wait full 72 hours before troubleshooting connection issues
